MEP018A 12 to 24 conversion

As some of you may know I own two MEP018A 10kw generators. One is all original and is a backup to my other one that's wired to my house. Problem is the owner before me converted it to 12v and now the hour meter don't run the alternator don't charge the battery and the 12v starter does not like to crank the engine easily. I have the 24v starter for it and want to convert it back. My question is what all is involved?? He never said what all was changed in the conversion it looks to me like he only changed the starter could I just put in the 24v one back in it and go or do I need to go through all the wiring and check everything?

No it's a 12v starter he confirmed that. Just a small battery. But I want the 24v system back so the alternator works and the hour meter and all runs right.
