I had an issue on the most recent auction purchase with the oil pressure being erratic and lower than typical once the oil was up to full temp. Additionally when you shut the unit down the OP would go negative. That suggested that the OP sending unit was bad.

Kurt pointed me towards a Autex 100 PSI OP sensor. It looked to be functionally equivalent to the factory sensor.

I ordered it and installed it this morning. The factory one used pipe dope but I put on some sealing tape and that also worked fine. No leak. Can confirm that it does go in just as the factory sensor did and worked fine. No mods required.

The issues with the OP were indeed a bad sending unit.

Here is the sensor as installed:

After running 40 min under load:

After shutdown, no negative value:

I don't suppose any of you gents are keeping a list of Military part numbers/NSN's and civilian cross over part numbers? Just asking.

Does it make sense to put all the numbers on a list and post it as part of the TM listing for a particular machine?

I have a running lists of notes like that for the MEP-80x, MEP-831 and now the MEP-10xx sets.
A compilation of info from members posts where they found commercial replacements that work.
Sure would be nice to add to the sticky for the common filters list for the AMMPS units or just send one to me for my benefit.
