What is the function of the small braided line that loops up and around the top of the engine then back down on the opposite end, runs along the bottom of the gen housing and disappears under the radiator. It has diesel fuel in it. Bypass return line to fuel tank? It's leaking.

Thanks.

Russ,
O'Rilley Auto Parts sells Gates Fuel hose in 1/8" that will work fine and probably outlast that crappy continental stuff that came on it. The 1/8" (3.2mm) is part number 27000 and the 1/4" is 27002. You can cut the 1/4" lines off the rail and use regular hose and clamps on those.

You will have to remove the top of the machine and the panel on the fuel tank end to replace all of it.

Russ,

if you start, do all the lines. These are world famous for leaking. And they sometimes have leaks so small, you can't find them. BUT, they lower the pressure on the fuel system. Then when you apply a load, the engine bogs down.

New fuel lines can be had from amazon. 20ft for about $32 enough to do one 803a and have some left over. Theres a sticky i believe about it. Might be in the 802/803 parts and filters thread.
