MKT...Purpose

What the purpose for the well, (pic #1) at the top of the pic, in the last cabinet, it doesn't appear to have a drain or anything like that.

It is a rinse basin for salads and the like. The cutting board fits directly over it. I have seen a five gallon water can positioned over it to help wash veggies, but have never found the correct bracket to hold it. BTW, the pan will hold five gallons.

The knife rack is between it and the burners. DO NOT LEAVE ANY KNIVES IN THE RACK WHEN USING THAT END BURNER! I can post a picture of the plastic knife handle if it will help convince you to do as I say, not as I did (once was enough).

I have often wondered what that well was for. There is no drain and no easy way to clean it out. Mike you use the word "Pan" IS there an insert pan that fits in the well under the cuttingboard?

P.S Yeah lost a couple knives myself to the end burner....

The entire top will lift out of the cabinet, but with a full five gallons in it - well, it ain't light!

2001 - that is one well equipped MKT and the personnel to cook in it. They were all top notch professionals.

We had the honor to help set it up and learned quite a bit about the system - we left the cooking for someone way better than us.
