The CK (Containerized Kitchen) is the replacement for the MKT, and it has a different heating system for the stoves and ovens. Not all MKT's will be replaced, but the military is supposed to be purchasing about 4000 CK's. Smaller units will continue to use the MKT and 'company level field feeding kitchen' which has about half the equipment of an MKT. The MBU-103 (V3 and red oval on the front) has a wider heat range than the original MBU-100. That comes in handy when cooking things like eggs (unless you like blackened eggs) on the griddle. BTW, JP-8 is basically kerosene with some additives (algecide, corrosion inhibitor, and de-icer), so using it straight will do no harm.
