is there any way to get more speed out of a stock duce or is it just in the trans
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
That gives more power. Not more speed just so ya knowYou can turn the fuel up but you might also want to install a boost gauge and exhaust temp gauge if you do.
it sounds like i should leave it alown is there a governor it seams like it starvs a lil on hils and there not that bigA member here makes a overdrive kit to get more speed, you can put on bigger tires. Overson makes new gears for the rockwells that arnt cheap. Or you can put a new engine in that revs higher.
Some trucks come factory with the fuel way down. You can bump it a little till you get a slight smoke from the stack while driving. Any more and you'll want a pyro.it sounds like i should leave it alown is there a governor it seams like it starvs a lil on hils and there not that big
if i turn the fule up a little bit you think i can get a steady 55mph out of it if i can get that ill be happyYou can turn the fuel up but you might also want to install a boost gauge and exhaust temp gauge if you do.
Definitely install a Pyro. 55 on the flats is easily doable. I have my fuel turned up as safely as I can. My truck will slow down to about 40mph on a 6% grade. Before I did the fuel it was 25mph up the same hill.if i turn the fule up a little bit you think i can get a steddy 55mph out of it if i can get that ill be happy
i know this sounds dum but what is a pyro and does what it doDefinitely install a Pyro. 55 on the flats is easily doable. I have my fuel turned up as safely as I can. My truck will slow down to about 40mph on a 6% grade. Before I did the fuel it was 25mph up the same hill.
It measures exhaust temperatures. If the exhaust temp gets to high, it will melt the pistons and the turbo. It allows ya to tune the truck for the most power with out cooking the engine.i know this sounds dum but what is a pyro and does what it do
They are also single circut so if any part fails they all fail.Remember the brakes are designed to stop a loaded truck and we do not typically run our trucks loaded.
Pics!!I have apyro on my M54a2. I also have an overdrive trans in it. The truck would go almost 68 mph. before I toasted the engine. We rebuilt the engine put a new Ip on it and added the pyro. The pyro lets you know when you are getting dangerously close to heating up the pistons. It sure chages your driving habits. She is a dog now, but it is all rebuilt and will probably out last me. I'm back to just over fifty mph flat out. No smoke but no top end. At this age I should be content to just getting there rather than gong for the pole position at the track.
