Movie "Sorcerer"...

I did some searching and didn't see any mention of this movie (which surprised me!)

"Sorcerer" is a great movie about a couple of down-and-out drivers who need to deliver explosives through the jungle to an oil well fire. More importantly the movie stars a couple of what looks like M211s. Also stars Roy "we need a bigger boat" Scheider. IMDB link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076740/

Here's a few clips on you-tube:

You can get this movie on DVD from amazon.com for about 12 bucks.

This is actually a re-make of a great 1953 French movie called "The Wages of Fear" (Le Salaire de la peur) which I feel is actually even better than the "Sorcerer" remake (the films are different enough that watching both will be enjoyable). About $35 bucks on Amazon for that one as it's a bit rare (no deuces in the 1953 film...they used other military-type trucks, but a great truck driving thriller). Here's an IMDB link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0046268/

Anyways...just thought I would pass this along to any early-deuce fans who might not know of this great little move.

I always wanted to see that movie - guess now I can say I saw the part where the M211 shined! Very hairy bridge crossing...

Any idea what that second truck is? The front reminds me of a early 1950s Ford, with that big toothy grin in the grille.

Weren't M211s auto tans?[/quote]

If I'm not mistaken, the entire family of G749 trucks used the automatic transmission.

Another good "M211 Movie" would have to be "Taps" with George C. Scott and Tom Cruise.
