Multifuel trans question

We had a multifuel 5 ton dump when I first joined the Army. I swear it had 4th and 5th gear in the right spot, 4 up and 5 down. It always caught me off guard shifting the trans in the M817's we had too. Am I crazy or do some of the 5 speeds have a normal shift pattern versus the swapped 4th and 5th?

Yes, the Multifuel 5 ton has a direct 5th and the Mack and the Cummins have overdrive 5th. In the deuces... the gassers have direct 5th and the MF have overdrive 5th... I would imagine the folks who drove the 400000 CCKWs would take umbrage at you calling "it the right spot" as all of the WWII Deuces had overdrive 5th... ACE

If you put an OD trans behind an R6602 w/ 1400x20 tires and it had enough power the numbers say it would go 80+ mph!! Some ride on old bias ply tires in all wheel drive!
