Friday, August 14th the Town of Canton, American Legion Post 61, and the Haywood County Rotary Club will be hosting a fundraiser to support Honor Air. If you are not familiar with Honor Air they are the group that raises money to send WWII veterans on all-expense-paid trips to Washington DC to see the WWII memorial.
The event will kick off at 5pm with a hot dog supper, military vehicle and memorabilia display, and some WWII vets as speakers. At 7pm live bluegrass begins.
The event will be at the restored colonial theather in downtown Canton across from the city hall. I am working with the town to see about getting part of the street blocked for MV's, that should not be an issue since the Mayor is helping us plan this.
Anyone bringing an MV for display gets 1 free ticket to the concert, but I need to know a few weeks out to secure them.
