Welcome to the March 2020 MV of the Month Nomination Thread!

To submit a nomination the rules are :

1. - You may nominate your own vehicle or another SS Members vehicle (please get the member's permission first). Do not nominate vehicles not owned by an SS Member.

2. - ONE good photo must be submitted with your nomination. PLEASE POST ONLY ONE PICTURE AND NOT A LINK!!!

3. - Previous winning vehicles from the current year cannot be re-nominated.

4. - One vehicle nomination per member per month unless you nominate another member's vehicle...not your own. You can ONLY nominate ONE of your own. (It's to keep things fair).

5. - We ask for 10 vehicles per month for the contest. Once we get 10 vehicles nominated OR at 20:00hrs (8PM) on 15 March 2020, (whichever comes first), the nomination thread will close and the "Vote Thread" will open as soon as The Boss can open it. All times listed are Eastern Standard Times.

6. - Please do not "campaign" for your favorite MV on THIS thread...wait for the "Vote Thread" then have at it!!

Now come on folks, let's see those beautiful MV's you have so we can all enjoy them.

Suggestion/question - Since the site update the photos posted to the contest have all been the big photo, which are great, but really slow down how long it takes to open this thread for some people. Could this be responsible for the drop in number of submissions and number of people voting? As anyone else noticed the speed difference?

Cheers Phil

I'll second that Phil, you're absolutely right, I've noticed it as well.

Shouldn't this be something that should be on the Steel Soldiers Migration 12-9-19 Post ? I'm sure PATracy could give this a look.

When you upload pictures to the site now, it gives you an option to show full picture or a thumbnail in the post.
If you hit the thumbnail button when you upload, folks see reasonable sized pictures instead of the monster sized ones.
You can click on the small pic in the post and it will open the monster sized one separately if you want to see it big.

Cheers

I've set the image to a max of 1280x720 going forward. As far as speed goes, I've seen no issues, but I'm typically using a gig speed network on a computer and tapatalk on my mobile. I understand that not everyone has the fastest internet. Hopefully this will accommodate things for others.

PB it does take more time, and I don't have a 10 year old computer. As for the drop in participation due to big photos taking more time to load, Phil may be on to something.
Not to keep on hammering about this. But I can have a fast computer, but 2mb internet. It will appear that things are slow, but really the limitation is the internet connection.

I'm supposed to have the fastest internet AT&T has to offer, but maybe it's just not as fast as others. Anyway, I now have some clarity on this. Thanks patracy.
