MVs Save Barns! (PICS)

Hi,

I just wanted to share some pictures with everyone. We finally got the chance to combine saving a little piece of America's Historical Architecture with MVs. We also got the chance to use that last 6ft. on the M819's boom as well as the outriggers! Thanks Ron! That extension pole does need to be 107".

The structure in question is a c.1780 English Barn that was destined for desctruction. Dismantling and relocation was the last option left. The siding and cupola are all 20th century modifications not original to the barn. It will be erected in its original form with an assemblage of other historical structures for all to enjoy.

P.S. you'll notice that in most of the pics, the block and cable are missing from the boom. Thats due to the fact that the wire rope gave up the ghost and finally snapped. No one was hurt. It was funny to see the block hit the roof and slide off onto the ground. We have ordered a new reel of 6x19 9/16" fiber core wire rope. Nominal breaking strength is 16.8 tons. It broke due to abrasion over the years. Everyone out there that owns a wrecker should inspect their cable. Someone could get bonked on the head.

Great pics. I'm glad you were able to save it! Is it going to your property? Did you make a drawing of the timbers and number everything to put it back together or is there a better way to do it?

Yeah everything was tagged and drawings completed prior.
