Hello SS!! my name is Derek, im from Baton Rouge, LA. I've been a lurker for several years, since a guy that lives near me bought a M35A3. I've been looking around on GL a lot and am currently bidding on a M923 cargo truck that's in MS. I bid on a similar truck a couple weeks ago, but I missed it by $200. the time on the website is eastern, and I didn't notice that until it was too late. I got home about 15 minutes after the bidding had closed thinking I had just sat down to start the fun.lol Anyways, im sure hoping to pick up this one this week. it doesn't require a euc, so I'm thinking ill be able to get it pretty quick. im a member of a couple other forums, and I know the wealth of knowledge that is in them, so as soon as I get my truck ill be posting pics and talking about mods!!

Welcome to the madness from the Big easy. Need to visit the Rally at Tim's in Ponchatoula usually in April!

Don't hesitate to ask for help! Glad to share.

Welcome but be real careful not to give details of current auctions. I also lurked for several years before joining, but I've learned more by participating. I'm sure you've read some of the recovery horror stories - if not, you should do a search to avoid the more common GL issues.

Sing out if you have questions.

I bought a 923 yesterday from an individual in belle chase, la. I'm planning on getting the paint freshened up soon here's some pics of her from last night. My wife is half Filipino and half white, but looks full on Mexican, and I always pic on her about it, so I only found its appropriate to dub the truck "the cinco"

Thanks. She drives much different than I thought it would. I knew it would be rough, but its a different kind of rough. Steering is as easy as my f250.My biggest suprise was the brakes. It stops really hard!

Yeah the brakes took some getting used to... I just kept thinking that I didn't want to lock them up and gave myself a good distance between any vehicles in front of me. My biggest problem was the pain in my rear end after 150 miles.

My drive was about 105 miles give or take a few. We stopped once about 30 miles out to check everything and then got back on the road. Every inch of my butt was screaming for me to get off of it by the time I got home.
