Looking to purchase a set of MSA MICH Sordin headsets that have the noise suppression and mics so you can talk and shoot, or be in a loud vehicle and talk. Also looking for a set with a boom mic and connection to a radio for comms, PTT etc.

The one I have really become interested in is the MSA 75310 single comm MICH set that you see all over ebay. It ranges around $150-$200. I'd like some help from you guys as to what radios this particular set would work with (looking at used motorola HT1000's).

Is there anything I need to keep in mind with this?

Thanks guys

Most headset manufacturers make adapters that enable them to be used with different types of radios. I would look at the manufactures website first and see what is available.
Motorola also makes adapters for just about any kind of headset to plug into their radios.

Thanks for the response. I have emailed them so I will be looking into that some more. I think I will prob pull the trigger on these (unless I am missing something abotu these?) based on price and then work my way around to finding the right radio later, I can use these for range headsets with or with comms which I like.

Thanks!

Sure would like to invest in a set of these as well.........thanks for sharing the interest.
Well let me know if you do adn I will be sure to post back here with pics and info about the ones I do purchase. Most of them I have seen have been right around $160, I'd like to stick with single comms #75310 ( I think) since there is only one comms cable hanging and I wont need to monitor 2 radios or a radio and vehicle comms.

The ability to connect to a radio/network and have a bopom mic, along with external mics to pick up surrounding noises and amplify them while cutting out high db noises really pushes me towards these instead of just getting some elctronic ears.

Watch for possible impedance issues. Just because the plug physically fits the jackl doesnt mean it will work electronically.

I've read about that being an issue sometimes, seems like with the MSA Sordins mainly?

Is this a compatibility issue between the radion and headset, and would it be sorted out with a modded PTT setup?

I've found the adapters made by Motorola match the impedance so it isn't an issue. I also have adapters from David Clark that connect to quite a few different radios. David Clark part #C6008 is designed to work with HT 1000 radios and should let you plug your headset right in.

Thanks for the info, sorry for the late response.

Still tracking down a set, many on ebay but I am trying to find some detailed info on these sets so I get the right one. 75310,75305,75311 single, dual comms etc..

Hard to nail down specific info, and the MSA site isn't great.

Make sure you get the gel seals - the stock ear seals hurt after about... 30 seconds. :)
