It's already been a month since I sent the EUC form. By next month In November 22nd, it will be about 60 days. If I could get someone from the near by area to tow the duece out from the base and store it. I will pay for your help and storage. I did want to drive the duece back home, so , I might need to change some fluids before I make my trip back. If anyone can PM me, that would be great. :-D

You are going to drive a GL deuce from GA to CA? Hope you have a backup plan when something goes wrong or breaks.[thumbzup]

This should be the record breaking recovery, right? I don't think anyone has gone farther.

I kinda like to see guys drive their new trucks across the country. They either get out of the hobby, or become true enthusiasts. While I haven't done the coast to coast trip (yet), I have done some 2000+ mile recoveries, and I look back at them as great experiences. I'm always looking for new ways to generate a little adrenaline...

Buy 'em and drive 'em [thumbzup]

That's one way to see ALL of the south. BarneysZoo and I did that 500 mile two deuce adventure in about 40 hours and I was sore for a week after that. And we were stopping and having fun.

I'm not the smartest guy around, but I would think you could get a nice one from Hundy or the movie guy north of LA and save a TON on towing, storage and fuel costs.

That would only be a 100 mile recovery though.

Maybe we should put a sticky up letting people know there ARE indeed deuces for sale in SOCAL.

:-D

I do not see many dealers on the classified adds maybe you guys should ask for a sticky for sale add or buy some advertisements.
If you want to see almost all military vehicles dealers, subscribe to Military Vehicles Magazine. There are ALOT of them.:)

Contact SETOYOTA. If he cannot help you I may be able to. I live a few hours a way but if you covered expenses I may be able to help. It could stay here for as long as necessary and you could service it here.

I've been wanting to see the other sides of my country. I'm sure I'll see a lot more green and clean compared to what I see in Los Angeles.

Well, I guess anything can go wrong

But, I might just have to bring some tools... and a ton of other stuff :cookoo:
I will need to service it and check every bolt on the duece. Maybe I should have done this after basic training. :-o

I have plenty of room. I can recover for you no problem. i have actually been in that truck. The air buzzer comes on when you flip the switch. probably runs.

Let me know when the EUC clears

Picked up my 817 with a trailer in Lavinia, TN last year. GL shipped two more from TN to Wickenberg, AZ that day. Two gentlement appeared in a wrangler jeep wtih a draw bar and the plan was to load the jeep in one of the 817s and tow the other with it back to AZ. Little MV experience. Had to give them a class on how to turn on the lights, I wonder if they made it.
