Neihoff 3135 replacement

Can you use the n3221 inplace of the n3135? Or am I stuck. I'm not running any extra equipment. And does the alternator keep spinning for a few seconds after you shut it off? I went through the troubleshooting guide and seems the voltage regulator is bad.

If it has an overrun clutch, then yes, the alternator will continue to spin for a short time after the engine is shut off.
The 3221 looks like it has different connection ports, and has different ratings than the 3135, so I would say no.

I believe the other regulator for the 200 amp setup is the n3117, though there may be more
