Just bought my first m1009 and drove it an hour and half home in the dark. Got within a mile of the house coming through a town going slow. When I pulled onto the highway I heard a belt squeal. So I limped it home the last mile or so. Got in the driveway and popped the hood. Had coolant all on top of the fan shroud and radiator frame. Some running down the front of the radiator. Still has some coolant in the tank. Gonna work on it tomorrow in the light but nothing stood out as obvious. Any suggestions? Also what I think is unrelated but the back battery was hot as **** and looked a little swollen.

Sounds like not enough coolant flow was causing overheating. Check belt for wear, and bearings on everything belt driven.
If you see an overheat starting, put heater on high, grin and bear it. Often extra cooling of heater is enough to prevent an overheat.

Hot battery is usually caused by an alternator that is overcharging. Get out your meter and check charge voltage.

Better check the output of the alternators. The battery should not be hot as **** ever. The squeal could have been the alternator pulley slipping due to very high load due to overcharging.

Haven't had time to dig too deep. But I did find the alternators were good. The back battery was bad. And the radiator is where the coolant is coming from. The guy I bought it from gave me. Battery today and ordered a radiator today. It's tough to find people like that still in this world.
