Well, it looks like Saddam's Nightmare just didn't want to leave north east Texas for Illinois!!! I loaded her and the M105A2 up on the last week of August in Reno, Texas for the move to Springfield, IL, and when I left on the 1st of September, I made it all the way to just east of Annona, near Clarksville, TX on US 82 E before the rear main seal failed (again after about 9 months), and took the clutch and possibly the transmission with it. I was able to limp her back to Weeme's Wrecker Service in Clarksville, as Mr. Weemes has always been good at getting her back on her feet, but I'm still waiting to see what the repairs and the haul up here on a trailer's gonna set me back....
Anyone in Texas looking for a good M35A2 with new radiator, Air-O-Matic, Convoy Lights, new intake manifold heater, 85% 11:00X20 NDCC's on trailer and truck, three year old cab cover and tarpaulin (GMA), hard top cab in bed, and miscellaneous tools in toolbox and manuals for the truck + goodM105A2 trailer? Actually, I will probably bite the bullet once again, as she has been an extrordinarily reliable truck 98% of the time and has racked up 6000 mile years consistently since I bought her, including at least two fairly long hauling trips....
When one does it, the other gets it, the Unimog just blew another fuel pump yesterday due to the prevalance of Ethanol laced gasoline here in Illinois taking out the rubber components... I guess MB never figured someone would be so stupid as to lace the gasoline at the refinery with corn alcohol.....!
Oh well, the MB still made it here with no preparation and the M35A2 didn't make it with lots of preliminary repairs and upgrades.....

We'll see what's next... It was a noisy 35 mile trip to say the least..... Maybe I can foolm the gremlins to stay down in Texas when I truck the old girl out...
