This site has been a great resource for bumping my memory and finding a nice M1009. Big Thanks to all the posters out there.
I would of liked a M35 or M561, but need something more practical, that my wife could drive on occasion too. When we test drove a M1009 she was impressed. To her it was similar to our old 3/4 ton truck she enjoyed.
The M1009 had a smell and feel that threw me back into the past. In my numerous State side and three Southwest Asia tours, we used CUCVs. Just before Desert Storm, we turned in our CUCVs for HMMWVs in Dhahran.
I printed a copy of the CUCV Wiki to put in the dispatch folder for quick reference.
Thanks again. This site is an excellent forum with a great group.
