I am pickin up my new M151a2 later today, should be an easy recovery.I will post a couple of pics later today, pretty jazzed about this Mutt, I have been tryin to get the owner to sell to me for the last 8 years, last week he finally relented and said come and pick her up.

She has been resting under an oak tree for the last 12 years or so, at least it had a top on it. He had it runnin 2 years ago so shouldn't be too hard to get the old girl up to speed again.

You need to get to work and get it running for Petit Jean!! I knew he would assimilate with the jeepers after seeing him at the Fun Run Convoy

Here are the pics, uneventful recovery(best kind). Some body damage but underneath and floors are solid. This was an OC jeep as it has the addition of OC running lights front and rear. This one came out of Ft. Chaffee so that makes sense as they used to have the JRTC here.

Actually TJ the real jeep Nazis will tell you an M151 is not a real jeep as it does not have a solid axle, I don't exactly agree with that assessment:mrgreen:

This jeep means a lot to me as this is a vehicle I had a lot of wheel time on when I was a private many moons ago, you just haven't lived till you have had a M151 wound out to about 55 on the autobahn:wink:

Looks like it has one of those Arkansas paint jobs.

Drive it on over to Okie City for a test drive.

So are you selling the M1008 and the mule?

Sellin the 1008 Joe, got a buyer on the hook. I am on the fence about sellin the mule, she is kind of hard to let go.
Selling the M1008??? What the!!!! Well I guess you have to sell some tjings to make room for others, if not then your yard will look like mine with MVs, trailers, and parts all over the place.

Is it possible that we will see it at Petit Jean in a month?

That's the plan TJ, gonna drive her down to Petit Jean, no trailer queens in my fleet.I don't plan on doin any cosmetic stuff yet just get her up and runnin, lights brakes safety stuff.

Think they will get mad when I park my ugly jeep next to all the pretty jeeps?

Well I'm looking forward to seeing you and the M151 there. They may get a wee bit upset if you park next to them but if they do, you have a spot over with us :) At least yours will make the convoy ride without breaking down rofl

Looks pretty solid-I think getting rid of the fifty coats of paint and putting a solid paint job would be pretty easy. Body looks better than a lot of the mutts we've looked at!

Yeah Clinto she looks better than about 20 other ones I looked at over the last couple of years. Did some careful sanding on the hood and the number looks like 02EL0470, would that be enough digits? Sound right for an A2?

I guess that would make it a 1970? It also has a BUDD tag on the firewall above the engine would this be a Ford built M151?

You have a fairly rare version of the Ford built A2 with the straight cut front fenders. This was before the military decided to change the design which was done by Ford before AMG took over. There was a very short span that these were made with that fender style. Yes it is a 1970.
