Hi Crew,
My Name is Jake, I was born and for the most part raised in Clarksville Tn. Still have an abundance of Friends and Family there and in southern KY. For those that dot know Podunk Clarksville Tn, it shares the land with the border City of Ft. Campbell 101st Airborne.. After growing up seeing the HMMWV run up and down the roads, I always wanted one. I finally got an old clapped out 1992 M998.. It was sold to me as a M1097A2 but?? I live in Central Florida now and MUST take advantage of the trails, we love them in the Truck and 4wheeler. We are gonna hit them with the VEE😂 Just wanted to come on and say hello.. Stay Safe, Stay Low..

Welcome!

Does your truck have a 3-speed or 4-speed transmission? Generally speaking M998s are 3-speed and 1097a2's are 4-speed. Granted, there's a lot of examples of trucks that were modified so it's not 100% accurate.

Welcome to the Outfit!

Now that you are here, you may want to download the TM's (Technical Manuals) for your new truck. Especially the "Dash 10" book. It will help you understand how to crank the truck. Yeah, we know... Just flip the switch and push the button and go - but turning it on, waiting for the WAIT light to turn off, then starting it will save you a lot of bucks on parts that you don't want to break.

@Mullaney, thanks for the welcome and advise.
I am familiar with the glow plug process and unfortunately I've got to guess at that part. Either my light is out or the plugs are smoke. I'm leaning to the plugs but won't know until I tear into the dash to replace all the bulbs. This machine is a bit beaten up and I have a laundry list of repairs before she's back in black. I will download the Dash 10 and the first thing I did was download the TM and have downloaded and filed many antiquated Military instructions videos to the make and model of my machine. They are a bit grainy but so am I 😂.
