Hello,

I just bought a 86 6.2 out of a cucv and have some questions on engine wiring. It came with the engine harness with nothing cut, but I did not get buss bars. I get that all fusible links go to the pos bar and the grounds go to the neg bar, but in the wiring diag it shows 3 suppressors between the pos and the neg bars and on the harness there is 3 suppressors but they have a plug on them. My question is, was they a plug on the buss bar to plug them up. The main harness was unplugged at the firewall and I would like to find a pin out for all the wires and I'm sure this has been done before but I have not found one yet. I'm planning on keeping the 24v starter and wiring it up as close to factory as possible. It is going in a offroad toy that has some 24v items.

thanks in advance for your replays.

Welcome to the site.

You need to add your state to your user profile. It is a site requirement.

The CUCV wiring is a 12v/24v hybrid system. The majority of the wiring diagrams are in the appendix of the tech manuals. You need to look at many of the diagrams to see each system. The alternators are a special design that allow the 12/24 operation.

read the first few pages of the TM 9-2320-289-34 troubleshooting section to see how to read the wiring diagrams.

The supressors where installed for the military radios. They are not needed for everyday use.
