just bought a 84' m1009 was driving along and my lights just went out. Ive read alot of post that had the same problem and they are talking alt lights and fuses. This trucks fuse panel is every where the lights you refer to I think are the ones that are just dangling under the dash. I found the 30 amp fuse and when I went to check it, it arched pretty good. I was in the middel of nowhere and had no fuses to replace it with so i pushed it back in. lights came back on. The Main question is the light yall refer to comes on periodicaly during the drive, I have only seen the one so unsure which it belongs to is this normal for the light or does this indicate a alt problem or do i more than like have a grounded wire.

Thanks for any insight
Brandon

The headlight fuse controls many other fuses/electrical circuits. It overloads and heats up. This leads to the fuse holder melting. Read the headlight sticky.

In a stock system there are no lights hanging under the dash. You may be seeing the glowplug or water-in-fuel light.

We need pictures or a better description.

It also helps to break your sentences up. Makes it easier to read.

If you could be a bit more specific, and maybe a picture or two, I can try and help you out. I had to do a good bit of electrical repair/replacement/pm recently with mine so it's all still fresh on my mind.
