Hello everyone, I hope my questions arent too newbie for you. My first question is what is the best fluid to run in the tranny ( what brands and best place to buy) and is the same for the transfer case and diffs? My second question is how do you guys feel about the spin on oil filter kits? I would also like to say I am happy to have found Steel Soldiers, and happy to finally become a deuce owner.

I have the spin-on filter kit from John Tennis (jatonka on this site) - it's great; easy to maintain, and no 10 second wait to build oil pressure.

hmmm..... Put some Lucas in it!!!!!!!!! We all just had a great pissing contest over that one. Search around, the TM's are downloadable from ARMY6X6, LLC as well as on this site and just make sure that you pay attention on the transmission oil as the synchros are picky and will not last in the wrong oil. Also, if the truck in you picture is the one we're discussing, that looks like a C and C Equipment truck and they usually go over those pretty well before selling. It likely does not need much at the moment unless you've put a couple of thousand miles on it. Also, the spin on filter's are great!!!!!!
