nhc 250 water pump leaking

has any one had problems getting the pump to seal back to the block, i had it on and off 5 times put a new seal ring on tried rtv, removed the plate behind the pump and resealed it. the leak is on the bottom and i cant see exactly were its coming from. next ill going to seal the bolt treads but they all look like blind holes? its turned into a pita

They can be fugly. If it has been off, just get a new copper seal. Coat the new one with antiseize and tighten the bolts evenly...that is very important. IIRC, there is a torque for it.

Is ther a way to tell the difference between a bad seal and a bad pump? Mine started leaking at the base of the pump after a drive. nhc 250, M817
