No Power to Electric Fuel Pump.

Everything was working well on this 87A2C. I removed the toggle type starter switch, headlight switch, on/off power switch, heater switch etc. to repaint the dash. After putting it all back together I have no power to the electric fuel pump. I used a test light on the plug that goes into the pump, no power. At one point when everything was pulled apart I got a spark but think that came from the heater blower switch. Everything is back together and everything works fine from dash lights, gauges, exterior lights, blower etc, just no power to the pump. I've looked at a wiring diagram for an A2 but wonder if the late trucks are a bit different, 4 wires to the starter toggle switch etc. Where does the fuel pump wire come out under the dash and what is it connected to? Any help appreciated

When I recovered my deuce, there was a power issue to the main power switch and lift pump, so I ended up running a hot lead from the battery post to a hidden security switch, and then to the main power switch. After getting her running and the 580 miles home, I ran another .012 gauge wire from the hot side of the starter button and down to the lift pump lead lug on the top of the tank. Don't forget to double check the fuse under the cover on the access plate. Everyone (including me) forgets to check that too. After I got power down there, still no pump as the fuse was toast. Later after I get her bobbed, I'll sort out the problem in the loom and remove the temp wiring. I dunno if yours were messed with, but also double check the ground strap from the chassis rail to the tank as it grounds the pump.
Some of these beasts have some really ancient wiring that cracks if you move it around. Next time you paint, just take off the knob or handle and wrap the switch shaft or slider with masking tape. It's the best way to avoid a literal can of worms.
