What size socket do I need to check the fluid on my 1009? All of mine are too small to fit.

Open end wrench works best.

Damn...it's 31-33mm or so. I bought a Craftsman at Sears and threw it in the toolbag but haven't looked at it in years.

I use a Metric Crescent Hammer for mine....

I've found a medium sized adjustable wrench to do just fine. As long as the plug is not jammed in there of course.

I also use a adjustable wrench. If you think the fill plug is bad, just wait till you have to get at the drain plug .
