How about a dash sticker that describes the starting proceedures that check for hydrostatic lock???

Very good idea as long as you don't eventually end up with the entire dash ten in sticker form. How 'bout this; A warning and the procedure for checking for hydrostatic lock printed on a plastic tag/card that you could hang on the in-cab main power switch for vehicles that were to be parked for a while.
Something like our 'DO NOT START" tags for vehicles with bad components or that have parts removed while they're waiting for their turn through the motor pool.
