Hello Folks I recently bought an Oshkosh P2526 plow truck, as far as I can tell it appears to be older Navy inventory by the few placards that I have been able to find on the truck? When I got the truck it came with an 11ft wing blade, a 8 ft scraper blade under the chassis, a 12 foot V-plow and a 12 ft straight blade angle blade for the front mount. It also came with a 6600 pound ballast box on the rear frame rails. I have removed the wing blade and all its assembly and the scraper blade and all of its assembly, Good grief that stuff is heavy! I then removed the ballast box, yes that was a major chore! After all this I now have a very nice Oshkosh truck that is sprung to handle around 40K pounds of weight and with NO weight it has now become the roughest riding truck I have ever ridden in, I think I need a kidney belt when driving it! And yes I know what did I expect removing all this weight! My question is instead of going through the hassle of messing around removing leaf spring sections till I find the right combination to make it ride better what are your thoughts of removing all the leaf springs and putting airbags under the truck? Yes I know its not original but it may well be a very workable solution with a lot less hassle to get to the desired end result. I would sure be interested in your thoughts on this, is it a good idea or am I opening a big can of worms that I will regret in the future?

Thanks much and I look forward to your thoughts on this subject!
Karl
