This week I am on vacation from work so time to get the 53 studebaker ready for parade season. Monday I prepped and painted a hard top for it the old one was beyond repair and I got the sound deadining insulation on the rear of the cab as seen in the pics the hummer seats look like they belong in there and real comfortable they are put on springer bases. Yesterday the 53 studebaker, 1009 and 1008 got new coats of CARC the 1009 got a new civi hood the old one was cracked and seperated man its nice to pull the hood release and it pops like it was designed to. The 1008 has a civi hood sitting on stands all painted and ready to go I have not got the help today to get it put on so the old junk one is still on the truck in the pics. It took from seven AM to seven PM yesterday to get them all done I was a tired old guy last night. Now I have one more 1008 and a 63 studebaker-packard deuce to do in the next couple weeks I even got the gun dialed in good enough not much masking was required to minimize the overspray.

Ken, Its pretty simple I cut the back rest off you have to cut the support strut (flat stock) off flush with the horizontal base to make room. I usually take the seat and sit it on the base and mark where the studs come out of the bottom of the humvee seat and weld small pieces of angle iron to drill mounting holes in its pretty simple after the back rest is gone.

That truck came from the LANG it was rustfree but needed the doors and fenders lined up and they must have just put in a new wire harness under the hood it looks new. It had a charging issue when I first got it GEN 2 was not charging then one day it just went back to normal brushes were probably corroded from the humidity and moisture down in LA.

That looked to be a nice set up,sorry to hear that.I didnt even see it on ebay.
Biggest problem was if I had sold it to a person in a state that required truck inspections once the whole driveline was altered and still titled out as a stock truck there could have been problems I didnt need to have to deal with.

:ditto: I have done one in my M818 but yours looks cleaner than my install. I have a second spring base but waiting to find a second matching seat.
I leave the horizontal tube frame on the seat I just weld angle iron tabs on the cross bars to drill and bolt the seat down on the only part I get rid of is the backrest where it starts to curve up ward.
