part from steering column

I am trying to repair the steering column in my M1009. I have the column taken apart but am having trouble finding out what this particular part is called. It came from below the turn signal switch. sorry about the horrible pictures.

If I am not mistaken, that is a switch that slides in alongside the ignition lock cylinder and is the source of the annoying key buzzer. It makes contact with the bottom of the turn signal switch and is relayed through that harness to the appropriate location on the fuse panel where this would be used to activate a buzzer if you leave your key in the ignition and open the door.
I will add the caveat that the item in the picture has been mangled a bit and I could be wrong.

When I pulled my M1008 apart to install a new lock cylinder, there was an arched spring with a little insulation left on it floating around in there. I put the column back together without that spring under the turn signal switch and everything seems to be fine. I am not sure what its intended purpose was. I thought it may have been a preload spring for the turn signal switch, but it feels normal. Mine did not look nearly as electronic as that part does though. Glen
