are the pioneer racks the same for M37 as M35 ?

I have heard they are slightly different, but I have a M35 one on my M37 and it fits and works great.

If I remember correctly the only difference I have heard is that a true M-37 rack won't have the drilled holes on the sides that are for mounting brackets ( like the M-35 ). Also remember to use 3/8"spacer/washers on the 4 mounting bolts between the back of the rack and the tailgate as the rack should not be pressed up against the tailgate

you can weld the holes up and grind smooth if you dont need them.

Does anyone know if the tools were issued with the wood varnished or painted O.D. I have seen both?

Alot were procured locally. Could be either.
