power steering pump going bad?

Just picked up a new to me m1009. When you first start it up the power steering works fine. After driving it around for a few minutes and warming up the steering pump starts making noise and the steering wheels gets harder to turn. Also, the when you try press the brake pedal hard, a loud knocking noise starts from under the hood and I can feel the brake pedal vibrating. Is my power steering pump taking a dump? Should I try flush it and put in New fluid or just suck it up and put in a new pump?

are your belts tight? full of fluid? it sounds like a bad pump to me... but check the simple first
