Just picked up this gem... man is it heavy. 877 lbs of fun.

it has a 4 cyl flat head, water cooled, found a manual on ebay.

First thing is to see if it will run. then do a proper restoration.

anyone have one of these? share you experiences please

Well, as always, rather be lucky than smart.

bringing something like this back from scrap pile is always interesting. There is always a reason they were taken off line. Sometimes major problem, sometimes minor.

Somewhere along the line, someone re-wired the start circuit to work around the starter contactor failing.

The distrubor had a crack which is probably what killed it. Plug wires, and magneto timeing were wrong. Other general hay-wiring and jury rigging.

Put it all back right, drilled and filled the distributor cracks, turned it over and after a while got it running (and makeing power)
