Ok - we're almost done with the engine replacement but have a few questions before we really put her through the paces...

On a 6.2L HMMWV:

1. What is the normal operating temperature for the engine?

2. At what temperature should the fan kick in?

3. What is the best way to test the fan control unit? (I have a ST-ICE = will that do it?)

4. Does anyone have an extra alternator bracket for an '86 HMMWV with a 6.2L?

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Pittdog here. the operating temp @ 180-190.. fan scould kick in @ 220- plus or minus a few, depends on the load you're pullin , and the load on the motor, and how long you set at idle. follow the collant mix iaw the -20. just remember! most of the air comes from the top of the hood ..... hope that helps you some.
