Quick and easy 24v starter question..?

Is the starter for a 86 GM 6.2 also called or in the same classification as the 28MT Series.........?

The old direct drives are 27MT and the new gear reductions are 28MT

Is the new ones with the gear reduction going to fit do you know..? Are they better or not..?

GM/Delco stopped making the direct drive years ago. They replaced them with the gear reduction. They are a direct bolt-on.

If you get a good quality gear reduction, they are great. The Chinese ones are a hit and miss adventure. (more miss than hit)

Which ever one you use , get the correct support bracket.
