Does anyone know thw purpose of the "Center of Grativy" line on the side of the R2. I'm pretty sure they were original because I found them under the old paint on my truck when I painted it.

Thanks, Jim.

Center of Gravity was important when loading for Air or land transport. Did it while in UMO class, never used it once after that.

Today it would make no differnce having a permanent COG line...all vehicle are JI'd "Joint Inspection" before ever going on an Acft, this has to be done becasue the COG changes based on the load out of the vehicle...so the canned COG mark is somewhat useless.
