Radiator Swapability

I have a 1983 GMC 1 ton dually with a 6.2 that needs a radiator and converted to 4x4. Can I use a radiator from a CUCV. Also can the front dana 60 be converted to a dually configuration by adding the dually spacers. I want to convert my truck to look like a CUCV. And does anyone have a radiator they are not using. Mine has plastic tanks and I'd rather get an all metal one in there. Thanks.

radiators are the same. The easiest way to convert to dually is to switch out you hubs. If you want to trade SRW for DRW let me know.

I allready have the dually truck. I was trying to find out how to convert a SRW front 60 to a DRW. I bought the truck for next to nothing with a leaking radiator but a rebuilt trans, new injection pump, and 147,000 original miles. The body is imaculate. I am also going to convert it to 4X4. I was hoping the Rad would work, so now I have to find a rad.

You need to buy dually hubs for the front. Just unbolt everything like your doing a brake job and put on the DRW hubs then reassemble.

The 1982 6.2s had a different thread for the aluminum oil cooler lines into the radiator. Sometimes the GMC truck line would use up older parts from chevy production. Yours being a 83 GMC, you might want to check that , or at least don't go nuts when the threads don't quite fit.
