Rear axle shaft

Hello. Had a bit of a dumbass moment. Need some info.

While installing the rear Eco-Hub, I pulled a little too hard on the axle shaft while trying get it lined up for the snap ring installation and...pulled it out of the diff.

What is the process to get things lined up so I can slide the shaft back in place?

Thanks. Got three more to do.

I feel your pain. I was re-doing a botched EcoHub install and pulled the rear axle too far. I struggled for longer than I will admit to get it back in with just the dust cap off.

Once I pulled off the bigger backing plate (that I had just RTV’ed on) it wiggled right back in super easy.

Will give that a try after I finish up the other rear install.

Thanks!

Oh to clarify: my failed attempts trying to reinstall the axle with the big adapter plate in place. It just didn't allow enough leverage to get the splined end up and into the diff. Once I took all the plates off, it was easy. Well worth having to re-do the RTV.
