Went to Redstone Arsenal today to pick up my m35a2 and Monkeyboyarmy's m35a3. Got there and met up with some fellow SS and loaned Wreckerman some air for his trailer tires. I didn't know if mine ran but while I was waiting on Wrecker to air up his tires The GL guy pulled up in it :-D. Monkeyboy's was missing some parts and had flats so I aired up the tires and winched it.

Here's a pic when I got home. Reckon Monkeyboy would miss his tires and PS ;-)?

that seems like an uneventful recovery :-D

we need more pics!
I'll take some more pics of the trucks but I didn't get any at the GL lot. The GL guy said he had to be leaving soon and to hurry up with the loading because I couldn't be there without him there. I was supposed to look at some trucks for some people but I had to leave before I had time. I even had to pull off the lot to finnish securing my load.

Went back today and drove one back to the new LZ......it is a stout little runner...prob won't part it out.
I'll be heading back Friday to get the last one.

I'll post pics then.

Any regulation at Redstone regarding driving trucks out? Someone said Ft. Jackson had forbidden it due to an accident.

I have to go in the next week and plan on driving it home as it has been previewed for me and is supposedly healthy.

Thanks

C

The two I have picked up there were hauled out so I have no idea. Wreckerman practically lives there so I bet he'd know.

I have driven several out (including the one yesterday).
They are good folks to work with.
Teresa, the head GL person, rocks as far as customer service goes.
The yard guys are very helpful too. They'll jump start vehicles and, if you are picking up other stuff, assist with loading.
I had my registraition and insurance card with me just in case.
They don't check vehicles exiting the gate.
Make sure they know you are coming and what you are picking up. Some vehicles are located at a National Guard Armory located off post. They don't load out on Fridays out there.
I have a military ID so I don't have to have an escort.
Gate 4 (off of HWY 231) is just a mile or so from DRMO/GL. Unless you are in a commercial vehicle you can enter there.
I have gone through there in a deuce.
I identified myself as a non-active duty person, told them the deuce was a POV and showed them my tag receipt and ins card. They gave me a 1 day temporary pass and sent me on my way.
The young security guy could not believe that I owned a deuce.
I said "you should see my big military truck".

Thanks WM, that's much more than I had asked for and 115% helpful. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to type all that.

Expect a PM in the near future.
