reverse idler bearings

disassembled trans for repair, removed reverse idler gear and roller bearings fell loose from there cage. is this normal? TMs did not get specific on bearings.

NOT normal; most likely worn out beyond limit...?
Dimensions and wear limits are in TM9-2520-246-34, on page 3-25.
