It turns out that the RTTY power connectors which appear to be
the same as the VIC-1 are not. The difference is that the RTTY
connectors have a longer shield and the connectors don't completely seat
although they look and feel like they do. It isn't until you notice that there is a
gap between the body and the device you are plugging them in to.
The specific cable assemblies I am refering to are as follows:
VIC-1 : CX-13089
RTTY : CX-10527/g
I suspect that if you were desperate, you could cut the excess off with a
hack saw. It's about a 1/4" too long.
