I am going to have to replace my VRV on my truck, went through all the trouble shooting and its the culprit. New vacuum pump, all new lines, etc. vac. at valve is good but no change at tranny with acceleration, check vac at tranny with VRV bypassed and its the same as at the VRV input or directly at the pump. My question is, will it do any harm to my tranny running with the VRV bypassed until I can get it replaced? Ive found a NOS one for $76, not to bad, just gota get paid. Other than real early, soft shifts, it seems fine with it bypassed for now. Just dont want to hurt the tranny.

Thanks,
Greg

I was told by the transmission shop that it will shift on pressure when you bypass the VCM on the injection pump. It is hard on the transmission because it is shifting on maximum pressure from the governor. He may be incorrect but it made sense when he hooked up my VCM correctly and it shifted as intended. Opinion only not documented by any TM. The VCM was put there for a reason.
