Each year, on the eve of Independence Day, the San Angelo (TX) Symphony Orchestra presents a July 3rd POPS CONCERT at the city's River Stage. TENS of THOUSANDS turn out for this annual event. While not always granted, they traditionally request flyovers by active aircraft (although not always approved or provided) and this year we'll be getting a B-1B Lancer. They typically time the "on-target-time" to coincide with THE ROCKETS RED GLARE, THE BOMBS BURSTING IN AIR" lines of the National Anthem. It's SPECTACULAR ! ! !

The Texas Army National Guard also brings some Towed Howitzers for firing during the "1812 Overature" - whose musical score written by BEETOVEN actually calls for CANNON FIRE near its climactic battle portion.

We look forward to this city/area-wide celebration of our nation's birth. Y'all come if you can.
