Second row seating mod

Hey guys, Last hunting season I decided to remove the rear seat and install a divider behind the front seats fo I could control loads better in 4x country. The divider came from a donor chevy van at the wrecking yard. I love having these in... but, in order to replace the rear seat, I have to remove the racks again. I am going to change the mounting method of the racks when the weather warms a bit. In the meanwhile, I'd like to see about modding the rear seat or floor to move the seat back about a foot. The seat will only be in place when I expect to use it; but I would like to be able to install it without having to remove my dividers.

Q: do the civvy rear seats use the same hook mounts as the M1009, or are there versions of the rear seat that I can just bolt in further back?

Q: Any reason why I couldn't shift the rails on the rear seat forward with the use of a custom adapter?

Thanks,

Ed

Civy rear seat is the same. I know of people that have added a second back row in the suburbans that did not have the 3rd seat option so should be no different than just relocating the the mounts further back but make sure you reinforce the floor area underside for safety so you don't rip the bolts out of the sheet metal if ever in the situation.

You might check out the 3rd seat of a modern Suburban or Tahoe as there are no bolts involved and the seatbelts are part of the seat. They mount to the floor simular to the rear portion of the M1009 rear seats.
