I just got a slave kit off an M923. Acording to the TM
there is a gasket and a plastic form that fits over the
NATO slave casting. So you grab the casting with wires
attached, thread it thru the gasket, then the pastic form,
then thru the bulkhead, and finally thru a piece of sheet metal with bonded nuts on it and a sheet metal cowel to protect the cables. Then you insert the four screws thru the flange on the casting and the aforementioned parts and thread it
into the captive nuts on the sheet metal gizmo.
Clear so far, I hope. My question concerns two things.
The first is, does the cutout on the bulkhead have the same matching keyhole shaped cutout that is on
the sheet metal gizmo with the captive nuts?
The second is, are the size of the holes punched in the bulkhead oversized to accomodate the tits on the
plastic form and are the holes dimpled or tapered in any way to acomodate the tits on that plastic form.
The reason for these questions is that I am adopting the connector to a different vehicle and have to make the appropriate cutouts in the bulkhead.
Thanks for any info on this strange question.
