Hi Guys,

I recently bought a 1986 M1028A1 from a govt agency with about 20k original miles in great running shape, new tires, and even had a liftgate. Bought it cheap, have all the maintenance records for the past 12 years, and included lots of spare filters, and even a brand new, never installed NAPA radiator.Has anyone recently installed a newer snowplow setup, and if so, how was the install? I'm looking at installing a meyer 8.5 straight blade and figure with chains and the lockers, this truck would be beast. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance !!!

If it was me I would not put a plow on it. By the sounds of it, yours sounds too nice. Maybe its just me but I treat my trucks like they are Gold. Anyway if you do put a plow on it I would go either Boss or fisher. I have a boss and I love it. The only thing I do not like about it is the plow frame hangs down low. The fisher is a very nice heavy duty plow and has a nice undercarriage for our trucks. If you do driveways I would go 8' if you do parking lots I would go 9'
