Solar battery maintainer

Has anyone tried one of those solar battery maintainers that plugs into a cigarette lighter receptacle to keep their forward battery topped off? My truck has a 12 volt accessory plug added and I’d like to try one of these to keep my forward battery topped off or have the option to (slowly) emergency charge if I drain it.
