I see a lot of repainted M35's with the stack painted how well does the paint hold up on the stack and does it get hot enough to burn off heat rated bbq or manifold paint?
Thanks Jerry

I use a flat black paint and apply it to the stack before every parade or display. I don't think anything will stick for very long. The BBQ paint may be a new good idea though. Mine always wears off on the radius of the bend.

Panzerjunky:

I have used a 1200 or 1500*F Gloss black barbeque paint made by Rustoleaum* in the spray can, it has held up excellently on the stack above the fender on my M35A2, but I am going to have to go over the muffler, down and J pipes due to their exposure to very heavy wheelwash (we've had an excessively wet winter here in Texas....lots of standing water on the roads & such). I am particularly careful about painting the muffler front back and bottom, as they are getting very tough to find for a NA Multifuel.

Just my 2cents worth.

Cheers,

Rustoleum paint, high temp and regular, VHT...it all works good on the whole deal except for the bend at the outlet on top. Whatever I put there will burn off after an hour of sustained freeway speeds if the truck is loaded. I just keep a can under the seat!
