That's a good place to start, then I would check voltage at the batteries as well as having them load tested.

If they are good to go, then break out the volt meter, the TM-20 page 2-39 (Troubleshooting "Starting") and previous "no start threads" (here on SS) and go sleuthing.

Good luck.

Is this the same truck as these threads ;
Wiring diagram needed

glow plug problems

24v- 12v conversion how do i do it? Did you do this ?

wiring issues..... again

Without information on what problems you have had and what you have done it is hard to tell what your problem is . When you continue with one thread people can see what you have fixed ( if you update the information ) and what you haven't fixed . It is hard to read through several threads on a truck what looks to have heavily modified wiring and be much help .

Edit : After reading through those threads you have updated any of them so . You need to post everything you have done for anyone hear to be able to help .

When you say not starting what does it do? Sluggish but tries to start? Regular starting and just won't fire off? Any smoke? Have you done anything with your glow plugs (check the TM on how to test)? These will help narrow it down a little.

Have you downloaded any of the TM's to assist you in troubleshooting? Folks on here have asked you a few questions in some of your other threads, but they remain unanswered. Per your previous threads, there has been a lot of issues with your vehicle that need to be sorted out. A little effort on your part will produce better results.

i have figured out that the engine is not getting fuel. does the injection pump need a power for it to work i heard they are mechanically injected is why i ask and if so where does the power come from and where does the power enter into the injection pump? and yes i have read some of the TM's on this site thank you to everyone who has helped

There is a 10 gauge pink wire to the IP, this needs 12 volts for engine to run. Fuel shut off solenoid. Also, green wires are timing advance and fast idle.

No no smoke means no fuel. Any flammables to the intake air can damage an engine. Slow cranking speed means hard starting too.

check glow function, battery voltage and power to IP. No smoke means no fuel. Never ever use starting fluid. Ever.

1986chevycucvm1008, you aren't going to get very far if you keep ignoring good advice like what steelandcanvas gave you.

Jumping from one thing to another will not get you good results.

so if i connected that wire to a constant power when the key is on the accessory position would that work? If not where could i hook that wire to?
A three buck harbor freight multimeter would tell you if you have power to the pink wire with key on. It even fits in the glove box. And fixing it right is cheaper than adding a jumper wire.

It is a hobby not a task. Relax and help the poor guy out. If you don't like the questions then you don't belong on the internet. You guys are taking this to serious. Some people think these vehicles are from another planet and rightly so. They are old and very different then the run of the mill vehicles out there. And I say that with a bit of humor and tolerance.
