Lately ive had to give my truck some gas to start. If u dont it will just kinda light off for a second then lope down to 400rpm and if you dont help it out it will die. Even happins with 95 degree temps. Clogged filters? Changed primary this spring and fuel tank is fairly clean. Bad pump? i hope not. Btw i have an Airtex fuel pump and its working fine. Ive tried letting the pump run for 30 seconds before starting but it dosent help. Anyone have this problem? And i get to do front and rear bearings and seals this week. Atleast i work at O'Reillys. Thanks,
Will.

The bad of the bad, possible IP head getting ready to check out on you. The thread "junkyard dreams" is the hot spot for parts right now. Let us know what you find out so others can learn what caused your NO START.

mine is acting similar to the above......

I thought I read in another post that this can be normal until the fuel governor or IP (don't remember which part causes it) warms up. Mine does this also until it warms up and it has a brand new engine in it. I wouldn't be all that concerned if you just need to give a little gas to start.

Thats a little different than what mine does. Once mine is warm it will start at idle w/out issue or additional throttle.

My junk does that in cold...well Ca cold, maybe 35 degrees. Other than that, fires right up w/o throttle. What is the idle set at? Should be around 800.

Mine idles around the 750 - 800 mark (hard to tell exactly due to the needle bounce) once it is warmed up. It only takes about a 30 - 45 sec at 1000 rpm for mine to get to where it will idle.
